This Privacy Policy explains how Novaradix Technology ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Android application PantryNexa: Expiry Tracker (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
1. No Account, Local Storage
- You do not need to sign up, log in or provide your name, email address or phone number to use the App.
- Everything you add (product names, brands, categories, quantities, notes, expiry dates, reminder preferences and consumed or discarded history) is stored only on your device in a local database.
- We do not run a server that receives, stores or syncs your pantry records, so we cannot access or recover them.
2. Information the App Does Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, files, or payment information.
3. Permissions
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
| Camera | Only to scan product barcodes and QR codes. Frames are processed on your device to read the code. The App does not save, upload or share photos or video. |
| Notifications (Android 13+) | To show expiry reminders that you configure. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. |
| Receive boot completed | To restore scheduled reminders after your device restarts. |
| Internet and network state | To look up product details for a scanned barcode and to load ads. |
You can withdraw any permission at any time in your device's system settings. The App still works for manual entry without the camera.
4. Third-Party Services
Open Food Facts. When you scan a barcode or search for a product name, the App sends that barcode or search text, together with a standard app user-agent, to the public Open Food Facts API (openfoodfacts.org) to retrieve the product name, brand, size and picture. Your pantry list, dates and notes are never sent. Open Food Facts data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). The App displays ads served by Google. Google may collect and process device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), IP address, app interaction and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom) the App shows Google's User Messaging Platform consent form so you can accept or decline personalized ads, and ads are not requested until consent rules allow it. You can also reset or disable your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
Google Play services and Google Play In-App Review. If you choose to rate the App, Google Play handles the review prompt under Google's terms. We do not receive your Google account details.
5. How We Use Information
- To provide the App's features: scanning, product lookup, expiry tracking, reminders and history.
- To show ads that help keep the App free (through Google AdMob).
- To respond if you email us for support.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use your pantry data for advertising or profiling.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual items inside the App, or delete all App data by clearing the App's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the App. Because we hold no copy, uninstalling removes it completely.
7. Security
Pantry data is protected by your device's built-in security (app sandboxing, screen lock and, where enabled, device encryption). Network requests to Open Food Facts use HTTPS. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your device protected.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help you resolve it. Ads are served by Google AdMob under its policies for the user's age settings.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Turn notifications off in the App's Notification settings or in Android settings.
- Revoke camera permission in Android settings and add items manually instead.
- Change ad personalization through the consent form (where shown) or your Google ad settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California) you may have rights over personal data held by us or our partners. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For data processed by Google, use Google's tools linked above.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version, with its effective date, is always available at https://novaradix.com/app-privacy-policy/pantrynexa-privacy-policy.html. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
